• biography • 
  With more than ten years performing in the best clubs
of Argentina, Hernan Cattaneo is one of the most respected DJ's in South America.

  His passion for music and his ability in transmitting
the best vibe to the big audience has led Hernan to become one of the leaders of the Argentinean dance movement, which grows day by day as well as his excellent reputation.

  His influences come from the 80's Chicago House and from progressive European 90' sound. It's result is a very characteristic personal style which creatively identifies all and each one of his sets.

  His ability to read a track and his personality makes him perfectly comfortable either warming up for  Paul Oakenfold, playing the main role in his residencies or closing a night after Justin Robertson, with the same effectiveness.

  The best example of the above are his five hour sets for Clubland (at Pacha, Buenos Aires, on Saturday night), one of the nights most
waited by all Argentinean dance fans. There, he develops a journey through underground house and progressive house , where the musical quality is the common denominator of the whole night.

 With regards to Europe, he is tightly connected with Cream, in addititon to being its resident DJ at Cream's monthly parties at
Pacha in Buenos Aires, AND CREAMÇS WEEKLY RESIDENCE PARTIES DURING THE SOUTHAM. SUMMER AT PUNTA DEL ESTE, URUGUAY, AND ALSO HIS EXCLUSIVE SUNSET SETS AT CREAM EN EL MAR
He also played at Cream @ Amnesia in Ibiza, Creamfields99/00 and Cream's Birthday Party in Liverpool

  Both John Digweed and Danny Rampling made Hernan their Guest dj at their radio shows on Kiss FM and Radio One
and his sets at worldpop.com were very well received by an international attendance.

   Paul Oakenfold, who fantastically supports Hernan's career, has called him  to be part of the Perfecto Tour , which took him to different cities in Uk in 99 and toured in 2000 over San Francisco, Denver(Red Rocks), Las Vegas, Phoenix, Palm Spings (Nocturnal Festival) Fresno,Burning Man Festival, Mexico city, Monterrey,Cancun, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Ibiza and the Perfecto party at the  Winter Music Conference in Miami.
  Lately,Oakenfold signed Hernan to his Perfecto label and Deep Funk, the first single, have been picked up by Sander Kleinemberg for his Nu Breed compilation.
Next, from may to october, Hernan will move to UK for six months to support  these release and will play many of the big clubs of the european scene where will 
be represented by Top agency ITB.

  More production work include remixes for a forthcoming single on Deep Dish Yoshitoshi label, and another track for
Perfecto that will be included on the next Oakenfold cd later in the year.

  His recent experiences have made him share the booths with DJ's of highest artistic stature such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed Justin Robertson,Darren Emerson,BT,Danny Rampling, Seb Fontaine, Dave Seaman, David Morales, Green Velvet,
Deep Dish etc and he also participated in recent concerts in Buenos Aires, like Cream 2000, Kraftwerk and The Chemical Brothers.

  Recent highlights included Cream NYE where he played back to back with Lee Burridge and 8 Cream parties DURING LAST
JANUARY at Punta del Este (Uruguay) and Mar del Plata (Argentina),  touring with John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinemberg, Mr C and  Lee Burridge.
Locally, he has won the best DJ Award in '96, '97 and '98 and the Dj of the summer award 99, 00 and 01 Besides that, Hernan, together with Martin Gontad, is in charge of Beat Records, a new record label that is consolidating it`s positioning at the SouthAmerican market.
