• biography •

Mr.C is one of Britains most innovative d.j.'s. Never happy with just following the trends of mainstream dance music, this London born d.j.'s low boredom threshold keeps him on the edge of tomorrows sound. He started his career back in 1985 as a rapper and mc. working with Jasper and Jazzy M on L.W.R pirate radio supplying Jingles and mc’ing at gigs. This led to Mr.C becoming a sought after mc. working at parties like "Raw" at  Y.M.C.A in Tottenham Court  Road with Dave Dorrell and the "Boiler House" parties through The Camden Palace where he started working with his turntable mentors Colin Faver and Evil Eddi Richards in 1986. In 1987 he recorded his first house record with Eddie Richards under the name "Mister-e" on Evil Ed's Baad imprint and at this point decided that becoming a d.j. would increase his knowledge and feel for the music that he loved and would there for help with future productions.

He went on to be resident  d.j. at the infamous "R.I.P" parties at Clink Street; London Bridge in '88 and the "Base" parties at the dungeons in Lea Bridge Road in '89 - the parties that were to become the torchlight for the Acid house movement. It was in '89 that Paul Oakenfold introduced Mr.C to the Shamen when he went on to record "Progen" (Move any Mountain) which was released later that year.  In 1990 Mr.C resided at "Mangled" at the Barn in Braintree, Essex becoming inspiration to regular patrons "The Prodigy" and "N-Joy". This was also when he started recording again using pseudonyms "The Bass Bureau" and "Nu Jacks".

1991 saw the re-release of (Progen 91) which elevated Mr.C and The Shamen to the number 4 slot in the U.K. Pop charts. This was the year that saw the start of Mr.C's  remix career reworking "Possible Worlds" (his first Shamen remix after joining as a full band member), "Eye's" by Midi Rain, "Big City" by Trevor Fung and "The Pendolino" by Beautyon. '91 was also the year he started organising and promoting the "Release" parties with Nathan Coles of Wiggle and Get Fucked fame.

The end of '95 saw Mr.C open the groundbreaking nightclub "The End" with partner Layo Paskin of Layo & Bushwacka fame and the start of recording duo "Killer Loop" (Mr.C + Layo) and End recordings. Since then he has continued recording as Killer Loop recording the club classic "The Blue Hour" and has also started his solo recording career as Mr.C releasing records on both  'End' recordings and 'Plink Plonk' working with such people as Robert Owens On End and Tom Parris on Plink Plonk as well as multitude of solo work on these and other labels including "Tide" records and "Alola" records. His productions over this period have been second to non including remix's for Alex Reese, OHMSS, Jamie Principal, Layo & Bushwacka, Armand Van Helden, Cari Lekebusch, Steve O'sullivan, It's Thinking and Vince Watson to name but a few!
