VITON

Born in Athens, 1976, Viton has been DJ’ing for the past six years professionally for the last two years. The past year he has been inducted in the line-up of Floorfiller Promotions, having guest appearances in some of the City’s biggest clubs (U-Matic and Venue), as well as surrounding cities.

Viton recently took part in the Event of the Year: the 1st Annual, Energy Dance Festival where he played on the same stage as world-renowned DJ, Paul Oakenfold. Later that same night, he closed for Grammy Award winners, Deep Dish on the second of the three Festival stages (05:30 to 07:15) in a set that has remained unforgettable by the enthusiastic crowd of 4,000.

Chunky, dark progressive house and dirty bass lines are the signature marks of Viton’s sets that have the tendency to get everyone off their feet and onto the dance floor!

Six semi-professionally, two professionally.

5. Best foreign DJ in your opinion?
John Digweed
6. Why don't the clubs show the same trust to Greek DJs as they do to the foreign ones?
The people are intimidated by the foreign DJs, and they believe that Greek DJs are not up-to-date. Sometimes they are right. Everyone in Greece thinks they're a DJ. The underground club audience, though, is very strict. They know how to judge and that is good.
7. Are you satisfied with the course of the dance scene in Greece?
Yes, it's rising. More and more people are getting involved with House and especially with Progressive House.

John Digweed 		6. Γιατί τα clubs δεν έχουν την ίδια εμπιστοσύνη στους Έλληνες DJs όσο στους ξένους?
Ξενοφοβία. Πιστεύουν ότι οι Έλληνες δεν είναι ενημερωμένοι. Πολλές φορές έχουν δίκιο. Όλοι οι Έλληνες νομίζουν ότι είναι DJs. Δεν είναι έτσι. Το κοινό στα underground clubs, πάντως, είναι αυστηρό. Ξέρει να κρίνει κι αυτό είναι ευχάριστο.
7. Είσαι ευχαριστημένος με την πορεία της dance σκηνής στην Ελλάδα?
Ναι, είναι ανοδική. Όλο και πιο πολλοί ασχολούνται με τη House και με την Progressive ιδιαιτέρως.
